With roots dating back to the early 1800’s, Carroll County is bordered on the north by the Mason-Dixon Line; the boundary that separated the North and the South during the American Civil War. During the war, Carroll County was heavily divided with supporters for both the North and South. Since that time, Carroll County has grown to become a part of the Maryland Metropolitan Area, which is the Nation’s 20th largest market and home to over two million individuals.
Featuring numerous small towns and large open landscapes, Carroll County is primarily known as an agricultural region, providing goods to the Metropolitan Area. Additionally, Carroll County is home to the popular Maryland Wine Festival, as well as biking trails, historical sites and more.
